New Boiler Shunt Pump Installed and Wired

Out with the old and in with the new. Alliance CFM recently replaced a boiler shunt pump, installing a new unit and completing the associated wiring as part of the heating system works.

The job involved both the mechanical replacement and the electrical side of the installation, allowing the pump and its connections to be dealt with together.

Boiler Shunt Pump Replacement

The existing shunt pump was removed and replaced with a new unit suited to the boiler installation.

A shunt pump forms part of the circulation arrangement within a heating system, so the replacement needs to work correctly with the existing pipework, boiler and controls. Once the new pump was installed, the relevant connections were completed and the system was checked.

Completing the Pump Wiring

The work also included wiring the new pump into the heating system. Correct electrical connections are an important part of a pump replacement, as the new unit needs to operate in line with the system controls and its intended function. Completing the wiring alongside the physical replacement meant both sides of the installation could be addressed during the same visit.

Keeping Heating Systems in Good Working Order

Pumps are just one part of a wider heating installation, working alongside boilers, controls, valves and pipework to keep water moving through the relevant circuits.

Replacing individual components when required forms part of maintaining an existing system. The right approach will depend on the equipment installed, the system design and the condition of the components involved.

For Alliance CFM, jobs like this are part of the wider mechanical and heating work we carry out for commercial customers across Berkshire and surrounding counties.
